Young Spaniard Luis Alberto could be set for a swift Anfield exit with Football Direct News claiming that the Merseyside club will look to offload the 21 year old after a tricky first campaign at the club.

The midfielder arrived at Liverpool from Sevilla in a £7m move last June and was considered a hot prospect but average displays on the field of play and questionable off-field behaviour could well see the youngster set for a return to La Liga.

Alberto hasn’t made a single Premier League start and when used has looked out of his depth and a drink-driving incident, where the Spanish Under 21 international was caught more than double the legal limit, could well lead to an instant return to Spain.

His former club Sevilla as well as Real Sociedad and Valencia are all said to be considering moves to sign Alberto and one imagines a decent offer will be quickly accepted by Brendan Rodgers.
