Check in to Germany vs Algeria

Everton are set to complete a long awaited deal to sign free agent Gareth Barry according to the Daily Mirror.

The 33 year old impressed during his season long loan spell at Goodison Park last term and has agreed a three year deal with the Toffees having been released by Man City over the summer.

The hugely experienced midfielder will add further strength to Roberto Martinez’s squad with the Spaniard having been heavily dependent on loan signings in 2013/14.

The Everton manager hopes to bring in Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal though knows that a move for the £25m rated Belgian would blow pretty much his entire summer transfer budget.

Barry had been the subject of interest from West Ham as well as from MLS sides but appears set to join Everton who will look to build on the successes of last term

Everton are also monitoring young Lille attacker Divvock Origi, who has impressed for Belgium in the World Cup finals, but may lost out to local rivals in pursuit of the teenager.
