Gunners among clubs eyeing free agent.Arsenal and Everton could make offers for recently-released Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o to stay in the Premier League next season, according to talkSPORT.

The Cameroon international was officially released by the Blues on the 1st of July after seeing out a one-year contract at Stamford Bridge, leaving him free to talk with other clubs ahead of the start of the 2014/15 campaign.

The 33-year-old has previously been regarded as one of the best players in the world, enjoying a great career with clubs such as Barcelona and Inter Milan, winning a host of big trophies along the way.

However, as he heads into the final years of his career, Eto’o’s form has not been convincing enough to see him granted an extension to his stay at Chelsea, though Arsenal’s search for a new striker could see them offer him a deal.

Everton are also in the market for new signings upfront with the departure of another Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, who spent this season on loan at Goodison Park.

Serie A pair Roma and Fiorentina have also been mentioned as leading contenders to snap up the veteran forward, who scored 12 goals for Jose Mourinho’s side in 34 appearances this term.
