Tottenham are reportedly leading the race to sign QPR striker Loic Remy with Mauricio Pochettino looking to complete a deal in time for the French international to face his current club this weekend according to the Daily Star.

The White Hart Lane side are keen to strengthen their attack and are set to meet the French international’s £10m release clause with the 27 year old having seen his projected move to Liverpool earlier in the summer collapse at the last minute.

Given that both Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela both drew collective blanks in their debut seasons at Spurs there is certainly scope for a striking addition and Remy have more than proven himself at Premier League level.

Remy netted six goals in 13 starts in his debut season at QPR but couldn’t prevent his side from suffering relegation to the Championship. The former Marseille man then racked up 14 goals in 24 starts during his season long loan spell at Newcastle United.

Pochettino would do well to bring in Remy and a fee of £10m is a very reasonable price to pay for a player of obvious ability.
