Check in to Manchester City vs Liverpool

Scouts from over 30 large clubs, including Liverpool and Real Madrid, were in the stands to watch Norwegian attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard in action for Stromsgodset this weekend, according to VG Sporten.

The 15-year-old is one of Europe’s most exciting teenage talents.

He is said to favour a move to Liverpool. His father, Hans Erik, is also keen to see his son join the Anfield club.

Odegaard was set to become the youngest player to represent Norway when he was named in the squad for Wednesday’s friendly with the UAE in Stavanger.

However, he has been withdrawn from the squad, sparking rumours that he could be busy negotiating a late transfer window move.

Liverpool have been extremely busy in the transfer market this summer.

The Reds have sold Luis Suarez, Pepe Reina and Martin Kelly.

Meanwhile, 10 players have joined Liverpool, with the club spending more than £100m to bring in Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Lazar Markovic, Alberto Moreno, Divock Origi, Emre Can and Rickie Lambert.

Javier Manquillo has signed on loan, while youngsters Lawrence Vigouroux and Kevin Stewart were recruited cheaply from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
