The 19-year-old was reportedly close to agreeing a move to the Stadio Olimpico after becoming frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities at PSG.

However, his mother, who acts as his agent, didn’t sign the deal, meaning the Frenchman is still on the market and is still looking for another club.

“I don’t know what went wrong,” Rabiot told Canal+.

“Everything had gone the right way and it was my choice, I thought of wearing the Roma jersey.

“Roma are a great club, their project is enticing and they are in the Champions League.

“Now we’ll have to wait until January and see what to do. I chose my mother as my agent, as she gives me good advice.

“I don’t know if I will play for PSG again, as I don’t enjoy being in the reserves. I am at the disposal of the coach and he will be the one to decide.”

This could be good news for Arsenal, who have been tracking the development of the teenager for two years and were thinking about making a move for him either in January or next summer when his contract expires.
