The 24 year old started the season with a bang and was rewarded with a first national team call-up and has impressed in Roy Hodgson’s side and is said to be considering his options with interested parties free to open negotiations with the former LEeds United man in January.

Brendan Rodgers may well feel he could do with more options in the centre of his midfield and Delph will either be available ‘on the cheap’ when the transfer window reopens or on a free transfer next summer.

Jordan Henderson hasn’t replicated the excellent form of last term and Joe Allen has been fairly abysmal when called upon and Delph is a player with a great deal of ability and arguably deserves a move to a ‘bigger’ club who can offer him Champions League action.

Delph is into his sixth season at Aston Villa and his side’s alarming drop in form of late will surely leave boss Paul Lambert struggling to get the midfielder to sign a new deal.

Aston Villa have lost their last five Premier League games without scoring a single goal.
