Premier League giants circling Southampton right back Nathaniel Clyne.

Considering the form of Southampton and England right back Nathaniel Clyne so far this season, it should come as no surprise that rivals Manchester United and Liverpool are ready to battle it out for the signing of the former Crystal Palace start in the January transfer window according to the Express.

Clyne has been one of the most eye-catching performers in Ronald Koeman’s impressive Saints outfit this season, finally earning England recognition from Roy Hodgson in the progress and firmly establishing his reputation as one of the best right backs in the Premier League and a real emerging talent.

Both United and Liverpool could do with real reinforcements at right back, where the Red Devils have been reliant on the inconsistent Rafael da Silva and Liverpool are preparing to lose fellow England international Glen Johnson on a free transfer at the end of the season after contract talks all but died.

Southampton sold a number of key players in the summer, including Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana to Liverpool, meaning that any interest in Clyne manage to slip under the radar, something that is not likely to continue in January considering his fantastic displays.
