The Polish international has found game time limited for the Gunners since a calamitous display against Southampton on New Year’s Day which was followed by the revelatory and incredible story that Szczesny had been caught smoking in the showers.

Since that game the shot-stopper has made just two appearances, both in Arsenal’s fourth and fifth round FA Cup wins against Brighton and Middlesbrough, with David Ospina becoming Wenger’s first-choice man between the sticks.

However, the Arsenal boss says he will have no problem with starting Szczesny when his team visit Old Trafford this weekend.

“He will have a test today and if he gets through that he will play on Monday night,” said Wenger in his pre-game press conference, reports Daily Star.

“Wojciech is used to playing big games and I think that he will take it as a big challenge to show his quality.

“He works very hard and I don’t think [his lack of match action] will be a problem.”

The Pole actually made is Premier League debut against Manchester United after Lukasz Fabianksi was injured in the game’s warm-up.

The Gunners lost 1-0 that day and haven’t beaten United since 2011 but will be looking to put their demons to bed and book their place in the FA Cup semifinals and a return to Wembley on Monday.
