Liverpool star on Barcelona transfer wish-list as Anfield side demand £9.9m for wide-man

Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno is on Barcelona’s wish-list as the Nou Camp side prepare for the departure of Brazilian Adriano, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

Adriano currently plays second fiddle to his fellow countryman Dani Alves, who signed a new Barcelona contract this summer [via The Guardian], and as such any addition brought in by the Nou Camp side would more than likely have to bide their time on the bench.

23-year-old Moreno moved to Anfield a year ago and had a fairly average debut season, as did many of those signed by Brendan Rodgers last summer, and perhaps tellingly Liverpool have been strongly linked with an interest in Lucas Digne [via the Daily Mail].

El Mundo Deportivo claim Liverpool want €14m (£9.9m) for Moreno, who is also a target of Serie A side AS Roma [via the Daily Express].

Prior to his move to Merseyside, the Spanish international had greatly impressed at Sevilla, helping the Liga BBVA side to a Europa League triumph in 2013/14. The full-back was also part of the Under 21 side that won the 2013 European Under 21 Championships (a team that also included David De Gea and Real Madrid pair Asier Illarramendi and Isco).

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has had a busy summer thus far, bringing in seven new additions. Having used Moreno as regular starter in 2014/15, with the attack-minded defender making 41 appearances in all competitions, he may need to return to the market again should he lose his Spanish full-back.
