Lazio winger Antonio Candreva has been linked with a move to Premier League giants Chelsea, with the attacker unhappy at seeing his side name Lucas Biglia as their new captain, according to La Repubblica.

Candreva has spent four seasons at the Stadio Olimpico, and played a key role in helping the Rome-based club secure a Champions League berth for the coming campaign. The Lazio man netted 10 goals in Serie A alone, and also finished as one of the Italian top tier’s leading assist-makers.

Chelsea would do well to strengthen their wide-attacking options, with January signing Juan Cuadrado already being linked with a Blues exit (via The Sun) and Mohamed Salah set to complete a loan move to AS Roma (via the Daily Mail).

Jose Mourinho saw Eden Hazard perform wonders on one flank, whilst Willian, who was a regular in the Chelsea manager’s starting eleven in 2014/15, proven very ineffective.

The Brazilian international scored just two goals and providing only three assists in 36 Premier League appearances during Chelsea’s successful Premier League title-winning campaign.

Chelsea have had a relatively quiet summer transfer window thus far, with the West London side bringing in Colombian Radamel Falcao in on loan whilst signing Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic and Brazilian youngster Nathan.

La Repubblica also state that Atletico Madrid are tracking the player, and may yet look to challenge the Pensioners for his signatures.
