Man United are reportedly very close to completing a deal to sign Valencia centre-back Nicolas Otamendi according to the Metro.
The highly-rated La Liga defender has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford for some months now and by all accounts Louis van Gaal is within reach of a deal to sign the no-nonsense centre-back.
The £36m rated South American has been in superb form at the Mestalla and would offer Louis van Gaal a strong defensive leader to solidify his shaky defence.
Van Gaal opted to play Daley Blind alongside Chris Smalling as his centre-back pairing during Man United’s 1-0 win over Tottenham last weekend and whilst the England international impressed the versatile Dutchman looked a little out of place.
