Tottenham ace IGNORED mobile phone to AVOID Manchester United move

Tottenham star Harry Kane has revealed that he ignored his mobile phone over the summer in an attempt to get away from football, reports the Daily Express.

The 22-year-old had an amazing season last time round, scoring 31 goals in 51 games for the North London outfit. This led to rumours that Manchester United were interested in the youngster’s signature, but a move to Old Trafford never materialised.

The England international may have now revealed why the Red Devils were unable to get their man. He wasn’t answering his phone during his holidays!

“It was important for me to have a good break after the Euros and last season,” Kane said, “The gaffer (Mauricio Pochettino) said that I should go away for three weeks and just forget about football, clear my mind and relax.

“So I went to America and the Bahamas with my girlfriend, played some golf, chilled on the beach and tried to forget about the phone and not look at social media.”

Although the striker is yet to score for Spurs this campaign, he did net twice from the bench for the Three Lions in their matches against San Marino and Switzerland. Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping this is enough to kickstart the forward’s season, with the Argentine have few other options up front.

Emmanuel Adebayor wasn’t named in their Premier League squad despite staying at White Hart Lane, and new signing Clinton N’Jie is untested in English football. This leaves Kane incredibly important in their attempts to challenge for Champions League qualification.
