Saido Berahino: Manchester United enter race for Liverpool & Tottenham target

A top ten scorer in the Premier League last season, West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino was expected to transfer this past summer. But with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool unable to swing a deal for him, another football powerhouse has entered the bidding war.

According to the Metro, the latest club to enter the bidding for Berahino is Manchester United. With Wayne Rooney on pace for one of the lowest scoring seasons of his career, the Metro reported that Louis van Gaal is looking for more offensive reinforcements.

Berahino recorded 14 Premier League goals and 20 total goals for the Baggies last season, finishing tied for 6th in the Premier League with Olivier Giroud and Eden Hazard.

In six matches for West Brom this season, Berahino has three goals in the last four games including the winners against Aston Villa and Sunderland.

Berahino was believed to have wanted a move to Tottenham Hotspur, but in the final hours of the summer transfer window, the deal failed to materialize. Rather than hold out, Berahino returned to the team.
