Real Madrid target Leicester striker Jamie Vardy as January transfer target

Spanish giants Real Madrid are believed to be plotting a shock move for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy during the January transfer window, according to the Metro.

The La Liga side are said to be in the market for a new striker and Vardy’s good form for The Foxes over the past year has apparently not escaped their attention (via Metro).

The 28-year-old former non-league player has began the new season in phenomenal form, bagging 10 goals in 10 Premier League games, which has drawn him to Real’s attention, the Metro reports.

Reports in Spain are claiming that the club are looking at Vardy to potentially add competition for current first choice striker Karim Benzema.

Fichajes believe that Madrid see him as the ideal man to challenge the Frenchman as a second striker, and as he has not featured in Europe this season he would be eligible to be registered for the Champions League in the new year.
