Spanish giants Barcelona are believed to be preparing to enter the race to sign Arsenal target Alessandro Florenzi, according to the Daily Express.
The Roma full-back has been a long standing target for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger as he looks to bolster his defence, while Premier League rivals Tottenham have also been credited with an interest.
However, a report on talkSPORT now claims that the 24-year-old has emerged as a target for Barcelona as a potential replacement for the ageing Dani Alves.
Alves only penned a new deal with the Catalan giants over the summer, but at 32 the club are aware that he won’t have much longer left at the top level.
Florenzi is currently under contract with Roma until 2019, although it is unclear how much it would cost to prize him away from Roma.
