Manchester United quoted £32m for South American PSG striker

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly willing to cash in on Manchester United transfer target Edinson Cavani, but only if prospective suitors cough up £32 million.

The Uruguay international was heavily linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes during the summer, with Arsenal understood to be keen on his services [Telegraph], but ultimately he remained with the Ligue 1 giants.

However, the last few months have not been easy for the former Napoli frontman; he has been criticised by coach Laurent Blanc for his stop-start goalscoring, and urged to contribute more in the big matches [L’Equipe].

If L’Equipe’s reports [via ESPN] are to be believed, it looks as though Blanc might finally have given up on the workhorse forward, and are understood to be touting the player around to prospective suitors.

The reports note that while PSG would be willing to let Cavani go, they would only sell if a club could meet their valuation.

The 28-year-old could be a perfect fit for United, who have themselves struggled to demonstrate attacking menace so far this season.

Wayne Rooney has struggled to impress consistently, while Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial are yet to prove that they can lead the line for title contenders.

The versatile, experienced, powerful Cavani could be just the catalyst the Red Devils need to push for the EPL crown.
