Roberto Firmino, Liverpool’s £29m summer signing, has finally scored his first Anfield goal!
The Brazilian, deployed as a false-9 against Arsenal by Jurgen Klopp, rebounded in Emre Can’s drive to give his side the lead this evening.
Then just minutes later, after Arsenal had equalised – he went one better and bagged a long range scorcher!
Firmino was selected ahead of Christian Benteke, and this goal shows why Klopp went with guile over power versus the Premier League leaders.
The goal was only his second since joining from Hoffenheim, where he was much more clinical.
Liverpool fans will hope it gets him going and contributing in Daniel Sturridge’s continued absence.
