Man United improving £23.1m transfer bid for Inter Milan striker

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has been on Manchester United‘s radar for a while now. The club tried to land him in the January transfer window with a bid of £23.1 million but were denied. With consistency problems at the striker position, Man United plan to make another run at Icardi.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Man United are expected to make an improved offer for the 22-year-old striker at the end of the 2015-16 season. Per the source, Mauro Icardi has also drawn interest from several other unnamed European clubs.

So far this season Icardi has 10 Serie A goals after leading the league with 22 goals last season. For his efforts, Icardi was named to the Serie A Team of the Year and was given the club’s captaincy during the summer.

Manchester United are still coming to grips with what a flop Memphis Depay has been. The Dutch star was demoted to the Under-21 squad this past week after a brutal effort against Chelsea over the weekend.
