Chelsea eager to clinch £39m deal for PSG ‘Player of the Year’ Blaise Matuidi

Chelsea are said to be keeping tabs on Paris Saint Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi ahead of a move for his signature this summer, according to the Daily Star (via L’Equipe).

The French publication claims that the Blues have identified the French international as the ideal replacement for the recently departed Ramires.

Matuidi has been an impressive presence in the centre of PSG’s midfield, playing a huge part in the club’s success since his arrival in 2011 and was even named as the French Player of the Year for 2015.

However, Matuidi is a key member of Laurent Blanc’s plans, and is still under contract with the Parisian’s until 2018, meaning a deal to agree his transfer won’t be easy to come by.

But a report in fellow French publication BuzzSport claims that PSG would be more willing to do business if Chelsea agree to meet their £39million valuation.
