Yaya Toure latest: Man City vet poised for move to Champions League foes

Posted by

Amidst increasing speculation that Man City midfielder Yaya Toure is going to part ways with the Citizens at the end of the season, a multitude of high-profile clubs have emerged as possible transfer targets.

According to The Sun [per Fox Sports], Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all expressed interest in the 32-year-old Ivory Coast star. Toure has significant experience in the Champions League, having played in dozens of tournament fixtures during over the past decade and winning it all with Barcelona in the 2008-09 season.

Toure has six goals and five assists in the Premier League this year and another goal with two assists in the Champions League. Last year Toure scored 10 league goals, and the year before that he set a career-high with 20 league goals.

Man City acquired Toure from Barcelona back in 2010 for an estimated £24 million.

Oddsmakers had recently listed Liverpool as the top contenders for Toure’s signature, but he might be an unnecessary luxury for the Reds now that Mario Gotze appears poised to join the club.
