Liverpool keen on signing England international valued at £14m

Liverpool are understood to be keen on signing Leicester City‘s midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

According to the Mirror, the Reds have been impressed with the performances of the recently capped England international in the heart of Claudio Ranieri’s midfield this season.

The tabloid note that the Merseysiders’ head coach Jurgen Klopp likes what he sees of Drinkwater’s role in the Foxes’ title victory, and appears keen to push forward with a move to sign the former Manchester United trainee.

However, the Mirror note that Leicester—who value the 26-year-old midfielder at £14 million—are unwilling to offload any of their key players during the summer.

Indeed, it remains to be seen whether the dynamic operator—who has been named in Roy Hodgson’s provisional Three Lions squad for the European Championships this summer—would be willing to miss out on the prospect of Champions League football in order to move to Anfield.

Klopp and his side will miss out on the UCL next term in light of their failure to beat Sevilla in the Europa League final.
