Man United up offer for Bundesliga assist-wizard to £30m – still not enough

After leading Bundesliga in assists last year, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is one of the most desired players in European football. Manchester United have a strong interest in the Armenian star – and the interest is mutual. However, the Red Devils’ latest bid for Mkhitaryan still isn’t enough.

According to German outlet Ruhr Nachrichten via the Express, Man United are willing to offer as much as £30 million for the 27-year-old Mkhitaryan – but Dortmund reportedly won’t play ball for anything less than £32.6 million.

Mkhitaryan has one year left on his contract and is seeking a dream move to Man United, according to his agent Mino Raiola.

“Such an offer to join Manchester United might only come once in a lifetime for a player and nobody can guarantee us that the door will still be open for Micki next season,” Raiola recently told Bild.

“Manchester are Micki’s dream club, he wants to join them by any means.”

Man United have already begun their summer spending spree with the £30 million purchase of Villarreal defender Eric Bailly, but the Express reported that manager Jose Mourinho has a £200 million spending budget this summer.
