Liverpool flop demanding £120,000 per-week from Crystal Palace after clubs striker deal

Crystal Palace have struck a deal with Liverpool over the transfer of Christian Benteke worth £27 million which could rise to as much as £30 million according to the BBC.

Per the source, the Belgium international striker is on his way to London where he will undergo a medical.

The powerful striker will complete the deal if personal terms are reached with Palace.

Benteke is however, demanding a pay hike which would take him to £120,000 per-week according to the Daily Star.

Liverpool had previously turned down two offers from Palace which did not meet their valuation. Head coach Jurgen Klopp was determined to have his asking price for the striker matched.

The Reds forward would end up becoming a club record transfer if the deal is completed. The previous record deal was the £13.5m paid for Andros Townsend from Newcastle United.

Palace recently sold Yannick Bolasie to fellow Premier League outfit Everton for £25m on Monday and will use the funds raised in completing the Benteke deal.
