Chelsea have joined the race to sign Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi, report Calciomercato.
Despite being just 22-years-old, Berardi is one of the most well-rounded and accomplished forwards in Italy. So far this campaign, he has found the back of the net seven times in just eight appearances. His good form appears to have caught the attention of one Premier League giant.
Calciomercato cite Italian reports in claiming that Antonio Conte is keen to add compatriot Berardi to his attacking line this month, as he looks to fine-tune his Chelsea squad. The Blues are eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, but it doesn’t appear Conte is totally content with the players he has at his disposal.
As per Calciomercato, Conte has met with Berardi this winter and has sent scouts to watch him play on numerous occasions. They believe Berardi would cost the Blues somewhere in the region of £21 million. It remains to be seen whether a move will materialise before the transfer window comes to a close.
