Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are both keen on reinforcing their midfield ahead of next season with the signing of Ederson Dos Santos.
They want to bring in someone who can help them control games better and the two clubs have their eyes set on Atalanta’s Ederson. According to a report by Calciomercato, the English clubs are in pole position to sign him in the summer.
Ederson has gone from strength to strength since joining Atalanta from Salernitana in the summer of 2022. The Brazilian midfielder has established himself in the Italian club and has been a regular feature in the ongoing season.

He has featured in 36 matches for them and has contributed towards seven goals. The 24-year-old is capable enough to play as a central midfielder as well as a defensive midfielder. His versatility and his impressive rise have caught the attention of clubs from across Europe.
He still has over two years left on his deal with Atalanta and they are in no rush to offload him. The Italian club are unlikely to sit on the negotiation table unless a club puts forward an offer worth €35 million.
While Juventus are interested in his services, their financial situation isn’t the best. As a result, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are both leading the race for his signature. They have enough financial resources and are keen on adding the 24-year-old to their ranks.
