Roy Keane sends harsh message to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

Manchester United legend Roy Keane thinks that Liverpool must win a second Premier League title to conclude the Jurgen Klopp era.

This season, the Liverpool manager made it known that he will be leaving the team in the summer.

After nine years at Anfield, where the team won the Premier League title for the first time, his stay at the club is coming to an end.

The Reds are in a three-way race with both Manchester City and Arsenal, and they want to win the title again to mark the ideal way to end the Klopp era.

Speaking prior to Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United, Keane asserted that the Anfield team needed to win another title.

“They won the title and it was difficult when they won it in terms of Covid and not enjoying it with supporters, so probably for the player’s point of view if they want to go down that road and be compared as one of the great teams you do have to back it up with another title,” he said on Sky Sports ahead of the game.

Jurgen Klopp is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

“One wouldn’t be enough for me, I know that. They’re not shying away from that and that is what great players do. They embrace that challenge. I think they need another title under their belt.”

The title is out of Jurgen Klopp’s hands as things stand

After the match against Manchester United at Old Trafford, it is not in Liverpool’s hands to win the title.

Arsenal have taken the lead in the standing due to their superior goal difference, while Manchester City are third in the league, a point behind the Gunners and Liverpool.

Klopp’s team is not only competing for the Premier League title but also for the Europa League this season.

Having already won the Carabao Cup this season, Klopp is looking to complete a treble by winning those two trophies.
