It was a Man of the Match display from the Frenchman, who constantly caused Sunderland problems down the right flank and put City ahead with a great strike.
Fernandinho – 6
Perhaps needs a little longer to fully return to the sharpness shown by the Brazilian before his injury, but as usual the defensive midfielder was solid in front of the back four and provided great cover.
Yaya Toure – 8
It was a game of two halves for the Ivorian, who was average in the first half and then brilliant after half-time, scoring a wonder goal to level things as Toure netted yet another at Wembley.
David Silva – 7
Was shackled somewhat by the north east side in the first half, but as they tired the Spaniard took control and drifted in brilliantly from the flank and provided superb creativity.
