Cambiasso has spent most of his career in Italy playing for Inter Milan.
Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is confident his side can sign Argentina international Esteban Cambiasso.
Cambiasso is currently available on a free transfer after he left Inter Milan earlier in the summer. Leicester have been pursing the 34 year old for sometime and Pearson is hopeful that the veteran midfielder will sign for the newly promoted club soon.
“There has been a bit more encouragement in terms of the Cambiasso situation,” he told BBC Radio Leicester.
“I’m more hopeful now than I was before the weekend.”
Pearson also admitted that Leicester’s first transfer window back in the Premier League has been a frustrating one but he is confident that they can sign a couple more players before the transfer window closes.
He added: “It’s important that we add a couple more players to our squad to make sure we can operate window to window.
“It’s a possibility that we might have a couple more bodies in before Saturday. It has been a frustrating window for us.”
Leicester have had a tough start to life in the Premier League, drawing 2-2 against Everton on the opening day of the season before losing 2-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
