Foxes target England veteran.
Leicester City are in the race to sign MLS striker Jermain Defoe according to the Leicester Mercury.
The experienced England international is keen to return to the Premier League following the sacking of his Toronto FC boss Ryan Nelsen and QPR are also tracking the former Tottenham man.
The 31 year old marksman only moved to Toronto FC in February and has proven a real success, netting 12 goals in 17 appearances, but could well be tempted by a move to the King Power Stadium, especially if he felt confident of his chances of being a regular starter.
The Foxes are also chasing Man United midfielder Nick Powell as Nigel Pearson looks to make deadline day signings.
