It has been revealed that Newcastle’s midfield enforcer Cheick Tiote not only has two wives, but a mistress on the side too, according to the Sun.

28-year-old old Tiote got married this month in his native Ivory Coast to Doukrou Laeticia, despite the fact that not only does he already have a wife back in Newcastle, but a mistress as well.

The Ivorian has two children with his first wife Madah, and a one year old child with his mistress Nikki Mpofu.

He moved his mistress into a £500,000 house just streets away from where he lives with his wife, and has allegedly been secretly seeing her for three years.

Mpofu claims that the Premier League footballer promised to make her his wife, but after seeing evidence of his latest marriage online, she has ditched the Toon midfielder.

“He met my mum and said he’s permitted to have several wives. I was comfortable with that. I never thought he’d marry someone else behind my back,” she said. “He’s used me like a mop. He’s just a pig.”

His 33-year-old mistress confronted Tiote’s wife at their home last week, showing her the son they have together.

“Cheick wasn’t there so she rang him and demanded he come home,” she said.

“He had no idea I was there. When he walked through the door he looked visibly shocked.”

“I told him, ‘You clearly have a big family, I don’t think you can keep count of your wives any more’.”

Newcastle bosses have apparently held talks with their £45,000 a week star, but although it is illegal to have two wives in England, that is not the case in Tiote’s homeland and Newcastle are thought to be sticking with him.
