The 25 year old German international is yet to pen a new deal and his current contract consists a very reasonable £20m release clause, one which Etihad Stadium boss Manuel Pellegrini appears keen to trigger.
The Westfalenstadion star may well be open to leaving Dortmund having seen his side fall way behind giants Bayern Munich, who have romped to back to back Bundesliga titles, and clearly Man City have the financial power to make an offer that would no doubt trump Reus’s current salary.
One would have to wonder quite where Reus would fit into Man City’s line-up given the amount of options Pellegrini currently has to fill spots in the final third though clearly the former Borussia Monchengladbach man is of sufficient quality to challenge the very best.
