Toronto FC man set to make move to King Power Stadium.
Leicester City are set to sign Jermain Defoe according to the Guardian.
The 32 year old former Tottenham man is set to quit the MLS after netting 11 goals in 19 appearances for Toronto FC and Nigel Pearson will apparently beat QPR boss Harry Redknapp to sign the experienced marksman.
The Foxes are confident of completing the deal and will hope Defoe will provide the firepower to help drag the King Power Stadium club out of the relegation zone.
Defoe’s exit from Toronto FC is seemingly fueled by comment’s made by the club’s president Tim Leiweke, who questioned the forward’s commitment, stating;
“if you don’t want to be here, get the hell out of our way”.
