The striker has been consistently linked with an exit from Turkey after he boosted his fledgling profile by impressing for Nigeria at last summer’s World Cup.

Tottenham have been credited with an interest in the player, with Harry Kane the only one of the club’s striker to be finding the net on a regular basis this season.

Emenike’s agent Erdem Konyar has been the main protagonist of the reports, and opened up on the subject whilst in London by saying: “Tottenham only really have one striker right now so it is not a surprise that they are interested.

“However, I do not think Fenerbahce have received an official bid yet.

“If Fenerbahce give us permission we could enter negotiations.”

The comments could be seen as a bargaining chip to get his client onto the radar of some top Premier League clubs, though.

A statement released by Fenerbahce said: “Emmanuel Emenike is a Fenerbahce player and has a contract with us until 2017, there are currently no transfer talks.”
