The night started very badly indeed for the home side as Sean Dyche’s men rushed into a two goal lead inside eight minutes.

First Marvin Sordell slammed home Burnley’s opener after barely three minutes on the clock.

Ross Wallace doubled the away side’s advantage with a deflected free-kick.

Tottenham responded instantly with Brazilian bit-part player Paulinho smartly finishing on ten minutes.

Just before the break Etienne Capoue forced his way into the attack before ramming home a corker to level matters.

Spurs had the bit between their teeth as the two sides came out for the second half with Vlad Chiriches bundling te ball home early on.

Then on 52 minutes Roberto Soldado bagged his second assist of the evening as he provided Danny Rose with an inch perfect pass that the full-back gleefully accepted to score Tottenham’s fourth of the night.
