La Galaxy have signed Mika Vayrynen…

ESPN have reported that Mika Vayrynen, who has played in England, the Netherlands, and Finland, has joined MLS side LA Galaxy ahead of the start of the 2015 season.

Vayrynen, who made his international debut in 2002 against South Korea, has amassed 59 caps for his country and score five goals. Domestically, he played for SC Heerenveen in the Eredivisie between 2001 and 2005, and PSV Eindhoven between 2006 and 2008. He spent a brief spell with Leeds around the turn of the decade, before returning to his native Finland to play for HJK Helsinki.

“Mika is a player that brings additional experience to our midfield,” said LA Galaxy manager Bruce Arena. “We saw his abilities during preseason and are confident he can contribute to our team this season. We are happy he will be a part of our group going forward.”

The 33-year-old has signed a 3 year deal.

LA Galaxy kick off their 2015 campaign when they play Chicago Fire at the Stubhub Centre on Friday night.
