The 21-year-old has been on loan at Championship Middlesbrough this season, and has been impressive for the lower division side. He has scored 16 goals in 35 league appearances, as well as picking up another couple in the cup competitions away at Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City.

Also nominated for the award are MK Dons’ on loan midfielder Dele Alli, and Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond. All three could be seen in the top flight in the next campaign. Alli is temporarily at the Dons from Tottenham after signing for Spurs in January, and Redmond is in with a chance of being promoted with the Canaries. Obviously Bamford could play for the Blues.

The Stamford Bridge outfit’s youth players also celebrated recently as the Under 19’s side were crowned champions of the UEFA Youth League. Could this news couple with their loanee’s success mean that Jose Mourinho will finally trust in youth?
