The winger’s current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, but after months of rumours linking him with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer [via Telegraph Sport], he is set to commit his future to the club until 2019.

News of the deal broke on social media on Tuesday afternoon as reports cite Guardian Sport, although nothing official has been confirmed by Arsenal or Walcott just yet.

After struggling for games upon returning to full fitness earlier in the year, Walcott ended the season in the best possible fashion as he scored a hat-trick on the final day against West Brom, which earned him a start in the FA Cup final against Aston Villa.

He opened scoring at Wembley as the Gunners cruised to a 4-0 victory and this news will represent a great couple of days for supporters following the addition of Petr Cech to the squad on Monday afternoon [via BBC Sport]
