Old Trafford side chase Bayern Munich duo.
Man United are reportedly in talks to sign Bayern Munich duo Bastian Schweinsteiger & Mario Gotze according to the Metro.
The Old Trafford side are keen to strengthen this summer as the prepare for a return to Champions League action with Louis van Gaal once again likely to spend big.
Van Gaal’s previous spell at the Allianz Arena saw the Dutchman work well with Schweinsteiger and the 30-year-old has just a year to run on his current contract and as such could be available for a reduced fee.
The experienced World Cup winner would offer Man United a real improvement in the centre of the park and having spent his entire career at Bayern Munich it’s plausible that Bastian Schweinsteiger could be open to a fresh challenge.
Mario Gotze has seen his career stutter somewhat since his move to Bayern Munich in July 2013, the 23-year-old being a less prominent member of Pep Guardiola’s first team set-up than he was at Borussia Dortmund.
That said, it’s unlikely Guardiola would accept offers for Gotze given his obvious ability and clear potential.
