The imminent Bastian Schweinsteiger transfer from Bayern Munich to Manchester United has not only affected a number of the club’s supporters but French winger Frank Ribery too.

Manchester United announced via their official Twitter account on Saturday afternoon that a fee has been agreed with the Bundesliga champions and the German international will complete his move to the club once personal terms have been sorted and after he passes a medical.

The Schweinsteiger transfer to United comes as something of a surprise and will bring an end to over a decade of service to Bayern Munich where he has won the league title on eight occasions and the Champions League in 2013.

The 30-year-old is regarded as one of the best central midfielders in Europe and proved his class for the national team last summer as he helped them win the World Cup in Brazil.

Bayern are set to start the season without Schweinsteiger and two of his soon-to-be former teammates in Ribery and Holger Badstuber expressed their sadness at the news in the video clip below.
