Liverpool to launch £25m raid for Inter Milan goal machine

Liverpool are believed to be weighing up a move for prolific Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi during the January transfer window, according to the Daily Express.

The Argentine striker was in fantastic form for Roberto Mancini’s men last season, but has so far only managed to notch up three goals in 10 appearances this term, but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring him to Anfield in the new year.

Icardi was being tracked by numerous Premier League sides last season but was convinced to stay put at the San Siro.

However, Klopp believes he can prize the striker away with a big money move as he looks to rebuild the squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers earlier this season.

Liverpool’s strikers have so far been ravaged by injuries with Christian Benteke and Daniel Sturridge both spending significant time in the sidelines and Danny Ings has been ruled out for the season.
