Chelsea dream transfer XI: Three new players to help the Blues reclaim the title next term

Posted by

January will be a season defining month for Chelsea. Having began the campaign in poor form, the Blues are expected to dip into the transfer market over the coming weeks to add some significant muscle to their side in a bid to climb the table and make a late surge for the top four.

They will no doubt already have targets in mind, but whether the parent clubs of said targets will sell is another matter altogether.

Still, if Chelsea can pull these deals off they will have a very handsome squad, indeed.

Chelsea - Football tactics and formations

John Stones

Chelsea’s pursuit of Stones is already becoming a saga, and reports recently have tipped the Blues to launch a £45million offer in the coming days (via Express). It’s a lot of money, but Stones is the future of English defending, and with John Terry’s career winding down a suitable replacement will be requires.

Alex Teixeira

It had been claimed last month that the Brazilian had verbally agreed a deal to join the club in the new year, but as yet no deal has been made. However, his signature is one worth chasing, as his goals from both up front and other attacking midfield positions will give Chelsea the dimensions they need to really compete.

Breel Embolo

Embolo has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought after young attackers recently, and of course, has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge. He’s still young and raw, but he provides a different option to what they have now and would add another element of danger to a frontline that isn’t firing on all cylinders.
