Tottenham star up for chop this summer as Pochettino targets more ruthless players

Nacer Chadli could reportedly be moved on from Tottenham Hotspur this summer as Mauricio Pochettino aims to assemble a title-winning squad.

According to Standard Sport, Pochettino might want to bring in more ruthless players after Spurs collapsed late on in their bid for Premier League glory.

Chadli has a decent scoring record in his three years at Spurs – 25 goals in 72 starts – but may not have the winning mentality that Pochettino is looking for.

The Belgian winger started eight of Tottenham’s first nine top-flight games of the season, but did not show enough to force his way back into the team upon returning from injury in December, starting only twice more in the league.

Over Tottenham’s final 23 games of the league campaign, Chadli averaged only 17 minutes per appearance as Pochettino went with a more dynamic lineup.

Spurs return to the Champions League next season and therefore the depth of Tottenham’s squad will be more severely tested. Pochettino will need to be able to entrust all of the players in his squad to perform in his high-octane tactics.

Attacking midfield is an area where Tottenham’s depth was exposed last season – The Telegraph reports that Son Heung-Min could also leave. He and Chadli departing could create room for some ruthless Pochettino signings.
