Arsenal fans get very excited as top target drops massive hint

While the traditionalists amongst us wait for actual speculation to confirm a possible transfer, Arsenal fans are loving Thomas Lemar’s social media activity on Thursday.

As per The Guardian, the Frenchman was a €100m target for the Gunners in the summer, but the move eventually fell through as Alexis Sanchez stayed in north London.

With the Chilean international and teammate Mesut Ozil still yet to sign contract renewals, Arsenal may well be planning for the future without them, and that’s where Lemar could step in and fill a major void.

The 22-year-old hasn’t been able to replicate his form from last season, as he impressed with 14 goals and 17 assists in 55 appearances to warrant the interest from Arsenal over the summer.

Injuries and a lack of form have restricted him this year though, as he’s managed just one goal and four assists in 16 outings.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t appear to have dampened the excitement that Arsenal supporters would have if he opted to move to the Emirates next year, as evidenced by the tweets below.

Lemar has seemingly liked a post on Instagram saying ‘Welcome to Arsenal’, and it wasn’t long before fans spotted it and began to comment on his decision.

It remains to be seen whether or not this is a genuine insight into where he sees his future, but only time will tell if an agreement is reached between Arsenal and Monaco over a transfer fee, before personal terms will also have to be negotiated.

That hasn’t stopped these Arsenal fans from getting very excited though…
