The agent of Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian has confirmed he and his client are in advanced talks over a move to Juventus.
The Italy international has never really settled at Old Trafford and it is little surprise to see him looking set for a move away and a return to Serie A this summer.
Darmian shone during his time at former club Torino, but simply doesn’t look cut out for English football and a sale seems sensible for all involved.
Football Italia claim Inter Milan had also been interested in signing Darmian, but his representative has been quoted by the site as saying talks are at an advanced stage over him making the move to Juventus.
‘Progressing very well,’ his agent said when asked about negotiations. ‘We’re at an advanced stage with Juventus.’
The 28-year-old could prove a solid purchase for the Turin giants, adding some depth to their back line as he can operate at either right-back or left-back.
It remains to be seen if Darmian would necessarily be first choice at the club, though Football Italia do suggest Alex Sandro could be on his way out with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, making a new defensive signing more of a priority.
