Barcelona ace drops exit hint amid uncertain future at the Nou Camp

Rafinha has seemingly raised doubts over his Barcelona future after questioning whether or not he’ll be at the Nou Camp in the upcoming season.

After struggling for playing time with the Catalan giants, the 25-year-old joined Inter on loan in January and featured in 17 Serie A games while playing a key role in Luciano Spalletti’s push to secure Champions League football.

A permanent move failed to materialise and in turn Rafinha returns to Barcelona, but he seemingly faces the same problem under Ernesto Valverde in terms of forcing his way into the line-up on a regular basis.

With that in mind, he has raised doubts over his future at the Nou Camp, as amid all the uncertainty over whether or not he’ll have an important role at Barcelona, he has reiterated that his priority is to play regularly.

“I’d tell you [about my future] if I knew,” he is quoted as saying by Calciomercato. “I spent some splendid months at Inter, and I would have liked to continue playing there, I’d like to return there but I am a Barcelona player now.

“My objective is to play, any player would want to play. I don’t know if this will be here or elsewhere but I want to play.”

Competition remains fierce at Barca, with Valverde seeing Arthur and Malcom arrive this summer to fight for places in his starting XI.

In turn, along with the likes of Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and others, it’s questionable as to whether anything will change for Rafinha despite the fact that he proved his worth at Inter and arguably deserves an opportunity to make his mark for the La Liga champions moving forward.
