Real Madrid took on Juventus in their International Champions Cup clash last night with a Marco Asensio double and a stunning strike from Gareth Bale firing Madrid to a 3-1 victory.
Asensio’s performance will have impressed fans as Real Madrid look to him to help fill the void Cristiano Ronaldo has left following his move to Juventus.
Having gone behind early to a Dani Carvajal own goal, Bale drew the Spanish giants level in the 39th minute, as he powered home a left-footed strike to give Wojciech Szcsesny no chance.
Asensio then followed suit, scoring in the 47th and 56th minute. Take a look at Asensio’s first goal of the game below as he and Vinicius Jr linked up superbly to carve open the Juve defence.

Madrid punished Juventus with a lethal counter attack on that occasion, before Asensio bagged his second of the game which gave Madrid a 3-1 lead.

Madrid fans would undoubtedly have been delighted as Asensio and summer signing Vinicius Jr combined for both goals.
The partnership between the duo as well as the star quality provided by Bale and others could see Madrid make a strong case to win more silverware next season in Julen Lopetegui’s first year in charge.
