Liverpool expect Reds star to seal last-minute move away before transfer deadline this week

Liverpool are expecting Belgian forward Divock Origi to seal a move away from Anfield before the transfer window shuts on Friday.

This is according to the Liverpool Echo, who note that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is eager to reduce the size of his squad before the transfer window slams shut on Friday evening.

The report also states that Liverpool would rather Origi seal a permanent transfer instead of leaving on loan.

This is something may prove to be difficult given the fact that the club are after £27M for the Belgian international (fee as per the same report from the Echo).

Liverpool are expecting to see Origi leave the club before this week’s deadline

Origi’s Liverpool career hasn’t exactly gone the way most were expecting it to since his move from French side Lille in the summer of 2014.

The 23-year-old has only scored 21 goals and bagged seven assists in his four years at Anfield, a record that Reds fans would’ve hoped to be better given how much he was hyped up when he first arrived.

With Liverpool already boasting an attack of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, as well as having Daniel Sturridge as back up, it’s hard to see how Origi would get any game time at Anfield should he fail to seal a move away.

Only time will tell if Origi manages to leave Liverpool before this week’s deadline, something that we hope he does, for the sake of his development, and his career!
