Manchester United have reportedly been given a huge boost in their rumoured pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
The Croatia international has long been linked with the Red Devils in recent times, with his situation at the Nou Camp looking uncertain.
And according to a latest report from Don Balon, United could be in luck as it seems Barca could now clear him to move on as they work on bringing in a replacement.
Despite Juventus being at the front of the queue to sign Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, it seems Barcelona are also trying to snap him up as Rakitic heads out of the club.
It remains to be seen for sure if the 30-year-old remains a top priority for United, but he’d undoubtedly be an upgrade on players like Nemanja Matic, Fred and Ander Herrera.
Rakitic has won all there is to win in the game at club level and also played a starring role in Croatia making last summer’s World Cup final.
His release clause is €125million though one imagines he could leave for less than that. Over to you, Man Utd.
