Man City plan £65m transfer bid to rival Man United & Chelsea for David Silva replacement

Manchester City are reportedly preparing to pounce on Isco’s uncertainty at Real Madrid as they line up a transfer to replace David Silva.

The Premier League champions could certainly do with some fresh blood in that midfield playmaker role, with Silva one of their most important players in recent years but now heading towards the end of his peak years.

Although he still looks one of the best in Europe in his position, Silva is now 33 years old and with Isco just 26, he could be an ideal long-term replacement in that role.

Don Balon claim City are planning to bid around £65million for the Spain international this summer, though a report earlier today suggests they’d face competition for his signature.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with Isco in another Don Balon report, in which it’s claimed both the player and club are prepared to part ways this summer.

Isco could clearly fill important roles at both those clubs too, with United in need of a replacement for Juan Mata as he nears the end of his contract and looks past his best anyway.

Chelsea, meanwhile, sold Cesc Fabregas to Monaco in January so could do with another creative midfield player, with Isco looking a fine fit for how the team play under Maurizio Sarri.

Wherever he ends up, it would be great to see a top talent like Isco in the Premier League after a tough spell in La Liga this season.
